ZWISCHENREICH | Miwa Ogasawara & Annette Streyl
We are delighted to invite you to the opening of Zwischenreich, a dual exhibition featuring the profound works of Miwa Ogasawara and Annette Streyl. The event will take place on July 4th from 7 PM to 9 PM, with a welcome address by Dr. Ina Jessen.
Miwa Ogasawara's paintings are a deep reflection of the inner life, capturing moments that transcend verbal expression. Her work is a subtle exploration of everyday situations, revealing the existential aspects of life in the smallest of details. For this exhibition, Ogasawara presents new works that incorporate the Japanese technique of painting on gold and silver leaf, adding a rich, luminous quality to her already atmospheric compositions. Utilizing a palette dominated by greys, blacks, and whites, Ogasawara creates an atmosphere filled with receding memories, capturing the intangible moments of the soul's life with melancholic and existential force.
Annette Streyl, a sculptor in both the classical and contemporary sense, employs a variety of techniques and materials to explore the relationship between humans and their natural and built environments. For this exhibition, Streyl presents works in sandstone, showcasing her masterful ability to transform this traditional material into modern, thought-provoking sculptures. Her innovative approach consistently surprises and engages viewers, presenting the familiar in a new and unexpected light.
The event will include a presentation of the new catalog "Zwischen den Zeiten" by Annette Streyl.
Both artists will be present to engage with attendees. We look forward to seeing you there.
