Christian F. Kintz creates colour spaces. On the one hand through the selection and placement of the individual works in the room, but also in the painting itself. In the paintings exhibited here, the colour was applied to the canvas in several layers using a squeegee. The artist decides on a base colour and then chooses a different colour for each additional layer. This creates seemingly monochrome paintings of great luminosity and brilliance. When the squeegee is drawn across the canvas, an overhanging bead is created at the side and the paint application is thinner at the edge so that deeper layers of colour shimmer through. This creates seductive tactile stimuli that also make the process of creating the work comprehensible.
