The Priska Pasquer Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of the group show “Liminal” at its Cologne location on the Rhine banks. This marks the beginning of a new exhibition series. “Liminal” refers to the transitional or intermediary stages of a process, space, or state. It often signifies a threshold or moment of ambiguity, existing on the boundary between two distinct conditions. Throughout 2024, the gallery will explore transition states, which can be experienced as a tension between the real external space and the aesthetic representation space of the artwork. The artists in the first exhibition present various threshold spaces in their multimedia works, making different worlds tangible: the transition from the analogue to the digital world, the literal immersion in social media that often only appears to depict reality, the complex confrontation with truth in the era of fake news, the uncertainty between present and future, and the play with the artistic medium itself as it dissolves its art science-dictated boundaries.
