Apply now for the Art Explora European Award 2025

The Art Explora – Académie des beaux-arts European Award celebrates bold ideas that connect art and audiences in new ways. Non-profit cultural organisations across Europe (now including Ukraine) can apply by 9 July 2025 for the chance to win up to €50,000

Dance along a kilometer in France with CND (Centre national de la danse); explore the digitised cultural history of the local community with Museum of Cycladic Art in Greece; watch young people perform in a chorus on a world stage at Fundació Orfeó Català - Palau de la Música Catalana, Spain; read the digital short stories created by female prison inmates with Udruga Skribonauti in Croatia; or discover the art of performance with Trafo’s travelling bus in Hungary. These are the projects that were awarded the 2024 Art Explora – Académie des beaux-arts European Awards.

If you're a European non-profit cultural organisation, and you're developing innovative projects aiding audience engagement, apply now to the Art Explora – Académie des beaux-arts European Award! The Award encourages new forms of audience engagement and participation in arts and culture, supporting innovative projects, across all art forms, that can be shared, replicated and scaled across Europe.

 

The Awards

The total amount of the European Award is €180,000, divided into 5 Awards will support the most innovative practices. 

Applicants are invited to apply to one of the 3 categories based on the organisation's annual expenditure in the 2024 financial year:

·        Category 1 (cultural organisations with up to €500,000 annual expenditure): Award of €30,000 

·        Category 2 (cultural organisations from €500,000 to €2 million annual expenditure): Award of €40,000 

·        Category 3 (cultural organisations with over €2 million annual expenditure): Award of €50,000

By submitting their application, candidates automatically become eligible for the Special Jury Award and the Audience Choice Award, each worth €30,000.

 

Which countries can apply? 

European Union countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Western Balkans countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia). 

The 2025 edition of the European Award has also opened to Ukraine.
